I came in as a Rookie in the 80's, a blank slate with no foundation to draw on for the job. Beginning as a Typist, then a Disburser, then an Escrow Processor and graduated to become a Closer, I've done it all in Escrow. I've managed Escrow Departments at the one office level, Regional level and the State level. And have always been amazed at the lack of formal training available, so I started creating training materials on my own, struggling to make a record of each thing I learned (sometimes by doing it wrong the first time). Overtime, I had developed a 3"thick notebook of reference materials. And, of course, I assigned myself the job of EXPERT, training newcomers. Somebody had to do it. And I have a passion for it.

At the state level, I was honored to be asked to be a presenter at the Michigan Land Title Association education seminars multiple times. The most memorable presentation was an interactive "Closing from Hell", giving those in attendance an opportunity to weigh in on how to fix the myriad of problems that occurred during the presentation. Most recently, in June 2020, I was invited to be a guest speaker via Zoom during the pandemic, presenting an abbreviated version of Escrow 101. It was a great honor to be asked again.

Working in this industry at several title companies along the way, I found that none of my employers had something in place to adequately prepare a new employee, except when it came to operating systems. And Operation Systems weren't a thing for several years, so it was typewriters, white out and razor blades to scrape off mistakes when typing.

Eventually, I took the leap of faith to start my own training company. I created a course called Escrow BootCamp. It was very successful, drawing students from all over the State of Michigan. This course required companies to send employees to me or to request that I come to them and was a 5 day long course, requiring attendees to be off the job for 5 days, sometimes having to spend time away from work, home and family at a hotel.

My goal was then, as it is now, to support title companies and Escrow Employees with their training needs. And now, I can offer the same training - The ReBoot (meaning it is up to date) and market not just to title companies but to individuals looking for career redirection, or enhancement.

I'm still actively involved in the Title Insurance industry. Today, I am an on the job Senior Commercial Escrow Officer for a respected Title Insurance Company. As such, I focus mostly on servicing our Commercial Clients, but also as a mentor to other Escrow Officers. I'm also responsible for monitoring the escrow account for irregularities and fixing them, A perfect job for me to apply my many years of experience, reducing mistakes, reducing the cost of errors, handling errors or omissions and creating a learning opportunity at the same time.

My Superpower is managing issues that come up after closing. I specialize in finding the best result for both our customers and our company.
